2023 U.S Automotive Sales Research
Auto sales in the United States in 2023 so far have been mixed. On the one hand, sales have been improving in recent months, as supply chain disruptions have eased and inventory levels have improved. On the other hand, sales are still below pre-pandemic levels, and there are a number of factors that could weigh on sales in the coming months, such as rising interest rates and inflation. Automakers are finally starting to see inventory levels improve. This is giving consumers more choices and helping to drive down prices. Trucks and SUVs continue to be the most popular type of vehicle in the United States. Sales of trucks and SUVs were up 17.2% in August 2023 from August 2022. The federal government is offering a number of incentives for consumers to purchase electric vehicles. These incentives are helping to drive demand for EVs, and sales of EVs were up 65% in August 2023 from August 2022.
