2017 Best Selling Pickup Trucks In the United States (All Models Ranked)
Pickup Trucks grew 5.8% year-on-year for 2017’s final month, despite a bleak outlook for the auto market heading into December 2017. With all pickup manufacturers having reported their sales to close out 2017, we now see that the year was also a good one for pickups. Pickup sales grew 4.8% across the entire year when compared with 2016’s totals. The Ford F-Series fell just short of absorbing one third of the market for the year – it ended the year with a still impressive 31.8% market share.
The Chevrolet Silverado surged to 24.7% year-on-year growth for the month, meaning it finished up 2017 just under 2% ahead of its total for 2016. Its relation the GMC Sierra also had a strong final month of the year, closing out December with 13.5% year-on-year sales growth. Combined, sales of the Silverado and Sierra are still eclipsed by the F-Series for the year, at 803,807 to the Ford’s 896,764.
