Smart Forfour
The Smart ForFour is a very distinctive and stylish five-door city car. As the larger brother of the ForTwo, it’s an alternative to the likes of the Volkswagen Up, Skoda Citigo, Hyundai i10, Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 108.
Smart Forfour Overview
The Smart Forfour is a five-door city car produced by Smart from 2004 to 2006 and again from 2014 to 2022. It is the larger sibling of the Smart ForTwo and is based on the same platform as the Renault Twingo. The first generation Smart Forfour was available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, including a 1.1-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. It was available with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.
The second generation Smart Forfour was available with a choice of electric and petrol engines. The electric version was powered by a 60 kW (82 hp) electric motor and had a range of up to 100 miles. The petrol version was powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine and had a fuel economy of up to 60 mpg. The Smart Forfour was discontinued in 2022 due to declining sales. It was not available in the United States.
