The Hyundai Motor Group is one of the world’s largest automotive groups. Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the conglomerate includes several automotive and related companies. Founded in 1967, Hyundai initially entered into a partnership with Ford to produce cars, but it eventually moved on to design and manufacture vehicles of its own. Kia Motors, on the other hand, has a history that dates back to 1944 and was acquired by Hyundai in 1998 during the Asian financial crisis.

Hyundai is the group’s flagship brand, producing a wide range of vehicles from compact cars like the Accent to SUVs like the Santa Fe and the Tucson. The brand also includes eco-friendly vehicles such as the Ioniq and Nexo. N Performance is is Hyundai’s performance sub-brand, which focuses on high-performance vehicles. Models include the i30 N and Veloster N. Kia Corporation is part of the Hyundai Motor Group.

Kia produces a range of vehicles from compact cars like the Rio to larger vehicles like the Sorento and Telluride SUVs. Kia also has a strong line-up of eco-friendly vehicles like the Soul EV and Niro EV. It has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade and in recent years has creating some amazing designs and really improved quality. It is gaining market share in all markets and receiving accolades for quality, design, and technology. They are focusing on electric mobility and have announced ambitious plans for the introduction of new electric models in the coming years.

Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, has received critical acclaim for models like the G70, G80, and GV80, although it is still working on gaining market share against established luxury brands. Launched in 2015, Genesis is aimed at competing with other premium brands and offers models like the G80 sedan and GV80 SUV that continue to capture share and wow anybody who is used to the Germans.
