OLDER JEEP LIBERTY RECALLED FOR BALL JOINT TROUBLE

Here comes another highly geographic NHTSA Recall. If your ’02 or ’03 Jeep Liberty was sold in, registered in, or used in one of the states mentioned below during part or all of its lifespan, this news affects you. According to NHTSA, “The front suspension upper control arm ball joint may experience a loss of lubrication which could lear to corrosion, accelerated wear, and possible separation while driving.” Of course, such corrosion would come from…. salt. Thus, the salt belt states are logically the places where 42,469 ’02 and ’03 Libertys may have a ball joint separate while driving down the turnpike. The whole front upper control arm assemblies will be replaced by Chrysler dealers. Not sure whether your vehicle applies? 1-800-853-1403 is Jeep’s number for you.
