Second Generation (W126; 1979–1992)
The second generation of the S-Class was introduced in 1979 and was even more luxurious than the first generation. It was also more fuel-efficient, thanks to its new aerodynamic design. The W126 was powered by a variety of engines, including a 3.0-liter V6 engine, a 4.2-liter V8 engine, and a 5.0-liter V8 engine.
