Fernando Alonso, fresh off two Drivers titles in Formula 1, switched from Renault to McLaren Mercedes for 2007. Joining him on the team was rookie Lewis Hamilton, who just happened to stand on the podium after each of the first nine races. He has won three races (Canada, US, Hungary) and leads the standings, with Alonso only three points behind. After controversies in the pits in Hungary and the ever-growing scandal regarding McLaren’s espionage strategy, it’s safe to assume the tension in the paddock doesn’t lend to commercial filming.
