Jaguar XE Sales Figures

Jaguar XE

Here you will find monthly and yearly Canadian, European, Chinese and U.S. sales figures for the Jaguar XE. The Jaguar XE is a compact executive car produced by Jaguar Land Rover. It was first introduced in 2015 and is currently in its second generation. The XE is based on the Jaguar iQ platform, which is also used by the Jaguar F-Type sports car. It is powered by a variety of four-cylinder engines, including gasoline and diesel engines. A plug-in hybrid version, the XE PHEV, is also available. The XE is known for its stylish design, agile handling, and comfortable ride. It is also a good choice for those who want a car that is fun to drive.

Jaguar XE Overview

The Jaguar XE is a compact executive sedan produced by the British luxury automaker, Jaguar. Introduced in 2014, the XE marked Jaguar’s return to the compact executive segment, where the brand aimed to compete with established rivals like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4.

Unveiled in 2014 and arriving in markets in 2015, the XE was positioned as a sporty, rear-wheel-drive sedan, with an emphasis on driving dynamics and luxury. The XE sports a sleek and modern design consistent with Jaguar’s contemporary aesthetic, highlighted by a prominent front grille, sculpted bodywork, and a coupe-like silhouette. The interior combines a mix of luxury materials with advanced technology, aiming to provide both comfort and a driver-focused experience.

One of the standout features of the XE has been its emphasis on driving dynamics. The car’s lightweight aluminum architecture and sophisticated suspension design aim to deliver a balanced and engaging driving experience. Over its production, the XE has been offered with a range of engines, including efficient diesel units, turbocharged petrol engines, and even a supercharged V6 in the sportier XE S model.

The Jaguar XE received praise for its driving dynamics and design, particularly its handling characteristics, which many reviewers found to be on par or even superior to some of its German rivals. However, it faced stiff competition in a segment dominated by well-established players, and some critiques centered on its interior space and infotainment system compared to its competitors.

Jaguar XEL China Sales Data & Charts

Jaguar has started local production of its long wheelbase XE in the same Chery-Jaguar Land Rover factory where its larger sibling XFL and the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport are made. The brand proudly mentions this factory features China’s first purpose-built aluminium body shop.

The XEL is a China-only sedan with a 2.935 mm wheelbase, which means it’s stretched 100 mm compared to the regular XE, with all that extra room available to the rear passengers. Other dimensions are 4.788/1.850/1.429 mm. It’s available with two powertrain options: both 2-liter turbocharged engines, with either 200hp/320NM or 250hp/365NM, both mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and both rear wheel drive. All wheel drive may become available in the future. Prices start at 288.800 yuan (€36.900,- / US$ 45,000) and run up to 428.800 yuan (€54.700,- / US$ 66,900). This is perfectly in line with its rivals Cadillac ATS-L, Volvo S60L and Audi A4L, and about 100.000 yuan less than the starting price of the regular wheelbase XE which has been imported from the UK before local production started.
