Hyundai Verna Yuena Sales Data & Trends
The Verna Yuena sedan replaces the sedan version of the previous generation Hyundai Verna (also known as Accent in other parts of the world), the hatchback will follow in Q1 of 2017. The “old” Verna will remain in production alongside the new one, as not uncommon in China. It will get a lower price tag to satisfy the needs of budget buyers. In fact, Hyundai currently still sells 3 generations of the Elantra and two generations of the Sonata and the ix35/Tucson alongside each other. However, the Verna is already a bargain basement model and although both models are still featured on the Beijing-Hyundai website, prices are pretty much the same. Pricing for the Verna Yuena starts at 72.800 yuan (€9.950,- / US$ 10,600) and runs up to 105.800 yuan (€14.500,- / US$ 15,400).
The Yuena is available with two engines: an updated 1,4-liter with 100hp and 132Nm and a carry-over 1,6-liter with 123hp and 151Nm, both coupled to a six-speed manual or a four-speed (!) automatic. Dimensions are 4.380/1.728/1.460m mwith a 2.600mm wheelbase.
