Here you will find annual car sales figures for Germany. These statistics are Total Market Volumes, which include passenger cars as well as light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
Since the late 1990s, the German car market has fluctuated between 3.1 million and 4 million sales, peaking sharply in 2009 to almost break the 1999 record before plunging 21.7% the next year to a new low as a result of the global financial crisis. Since 2014, German car sales are on a slow but steady road to recovery with five consecutive years of small increases. In recent years, LCV sales have typically made up around 6.5% of total car sales in Germany but were as high as 7.8% in 2019.
