Opel Adam Rocks & Adam S
The Adam Rocks is almost identical to the concept car, which was shown one year ago. Its all-around body cladding and 15 mm raised ride height give the Adam a more rugged appearance. The Rocks is exclusively available with a folding canvas roof called Swing Top and will go on sale in early Summer. Opel will also add new three-cylinder 1.0 Turbo Ecotec engines (90/115 hp) combined with a six-speed manual transmission to the Adam line-up. Moreover, Opel launched a new top-of-the-range Adam S, which features a 1.4 Turbo Ecotec engine with a maximum output of 150 hp. 
Peugeot 108
The Peugeot 108 was the first of the next generation triplets manufactured in Kolin, Czech Republic to be revealed. The 108 now comes with many styling cues from the 208, 2008 and 308. The overall length has increased by 40 mm to 3,470 mm, while the width decreased by 35 mm to 1,620 mm as compared to the preceding 107 and the wheelbase is unchanged at 2,340 mm. The luggage capacity is similar to the C1, which means 196 liters with a puncture repair kit or 180 liters with a spare wheel. The base weight of 840 kg is remarkably higher than the outgoing 107. Like Citroën, Peugeot offers 3-door and 5-door versions and an open-top body style, the TOP!. There is a choice of two petrol engines: the 1.0 e-VTi and VTi 68 with CO2 emissions of 88 to 95 g/km or 97 g/km for the ETG-version with semi-automatic transmission. While Peugeot uses a 1.0-liter Toyota engine, the 1.2 VTi 82 (82 hp) has an in-house developed engine with CO2 emissions of 99 g/km. 
Peugeot 308 SW
The second novelty of Peugeot is the stationcar of the recently announced Car of the Year 2014, the SW. The 308 SW is based on the same modular EMP2-platform as the 308 hatchback, however Peugeot has stretched the wheelbase from 2,620 mm to 2,730 mm, which is a good thing considering the criticism on the cramped rear seats of the hatchback. Measuring 4,585 mm long and 1,470 mm high, it’s 332 mm longer and slightly higher than the hatchback. It’s luggage capacity of 610-1660 liters is close to the Honda Civic Tourer and Skoda Octavia Combi, the current champions in that respect. The engine line-up includes the new 1.2 e-THP (110/130 hp). Its fuel consumption is just 4.7 l/100 km and it emits just 109 g/km of CO2. Other additions to the lineup are the 1.6 BlueHDi (120 hp) and 2.0 BlueHDi (150 hp) with class-leading CO2 emissions of 85 and 99 g/km respectively. The 308 SW will go on sale in the Spring. 
Qoros 3 Hatch
The Chinese carmaker Qoros has only existed for a year, but certainly did a lot to the perception of Chinese cars. The 3 Sedan has been ranked by Euro NCAP as the safest car of 2013. At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show Qoros launches the hatchback version of the Qoros 3. The 3 Hatch, measuring 4,438 mm long, 1,839 mm wide and 1,445 mm high, should rival the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus and Kia cee’d. The wheelbase of 2,690 mm is identical to the sedan, whereas its luggage capacity of 403-1,105 liters outclasses most of its rivals. For now there are only two engines: a 1.6 (126 hp) and 1.6T (156 hp) with a six-speed manual or a six-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic). 
Renault Twingo
Compared to its predecessor, the new Renault Twingo is revolutionary. The front-wheel drive 3-door Twingo has been replaced by a new rear-wheel drive 5-door hatchback with its engine positioned at the rear. Since the cost of development initially deemed to be too high, Renault partnered with Daimler to share development costs. The smart fortwo has always had the same arrangement; the Renault Twingo and next generation smart fortwo and forfour will therefore share platforms and engines. The new Twingo is 10 cm shorter than its predecessor (to 3,590 mm), the width shrank to 1,640 mm and its height increased from 1,470 to 1,550 mm. The wheelbase is 13 cm longer (now 2,490 mm), while the luggage capacity is 219 liters, which is in line with its competitors. Buyers are offered a choice of two petrol engines: the new normally aspirated three-cylinder 1.0-liter SCe 70 and the 0.9-liter turbocharged TCe 90, while the diesel engined Twingo has been discontinued. Personalization options are numerous and include different colours and materials for mirror housings, grille trim, side mouldings and interior decor elements like the instrument housing surround, air vents and steering wheel inserts. 
Seat Leon Cupra
The third generation Leon Cupra is for the first time available in two body styles: the 5-door and the sportier 3-door SC. The 2.0 TFSI engine produces 265-280 hp. The most powerful version manages to go from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, while the top speed is 250 km/h.
Skoda Octavia Scout & Octavia G-Tec
Like before, the Octavia Scout is a more rugged version of the Octavia Combi with raised height of 33 mm and four-wheel drive, which is especially popular in the Alpine countries. There is a choice of a 1.8 TSI turbocharged petrol engine (180 hp) and 2.0 TDI diesel engines (150/180 hp). Different bumper styling and all-round body cladding distinguishes it from the regular four-wheel drive Octavia Combi. Besides, Skoda launched the Octavia with CNG drive, the 1.4 TSI G-Tec (110 hp) with CO2 emissions of 97 g/km. 
Subaru WRX STI
This Spring the new WRX STI sport sedan will arrive at the Subaru dealerships. The all-wheel drive WRX STI is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine that produces 300 hp. The body and chassis have been stiffened to improve torsional rigidity. The new model is more spacious too, thanks to the 25 mm increase in wheelbase (to 2,650 mm) and increased cargo volume in the boot (now 340 liters). 
Suzuki Celerio
The Suzuki Celerio debuted in New Delhi last month. Suzuki focused on interior space and economy when developing the Celerio. Compared to the Alto it replaces, the Celerio is 10 cm longer (3,600 mm) and 7 cm taller (1,550 mm) and its class-leading boot space of 254 liters even outclasses the Swift. Unlike its Indian-built predecessor, it will be manufactured in Thailand for the European market and it will be launched in January 2015. Its 1.0-liter engine (68 hp) has become more efficient with best-in-class CO2 emissions of 85 g/km. However, it remains to be seen if the Celerio, with its rather uninspiring exterior, can compete with fresh-looking new city cars like the new Citroën C1, Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo triplets, Renault Twingo and Hyundai i10. 
Tata Bolt & Tata Zest
The cars from the Indian car manufacturer Tata Motors are sold in Spain, Italy and Turkey. In those markets it will launch the Bolt compact hatchback and Zest compact sedan, which are based on the Tata Vista, but feature new exterior and interior designs and a turbocharged 1.2-liter engine (84 hp). Tata continues to offer the 1.3 Quadrajet diesel engine from Fiat. 
Toyota Aygo
The new Aygo is the sportiest looking of the triplets. It’s clear that, as a departure from their predecessors, Citroën, Peugeot and Toyota chose to follow their own path; the Aygo is recognizable from its frontal ‘X’ graphic and different sheet metal. The new youth-oriented generation succeeds the original Aygo, launched at the Geneva Motor Show exactly nine years ago. According to Toyota, it’s a design that forces people to take sides and that won’t appeal to everyone. The Aygo follows the trend of customization: there are about 10 parts around the vehicle that can be replaced by alternative colours and executions. The overall length has increased by 25 mm to 3,455 mm and the height was reduced by 5 mm (1,460 mm), while the wheelbase is identical to its predecessor (2,340 mm). The luggage capacity was increased by 29 liters to 168 liters, still below its main rivals. The three-cylinder 1.0 VVT-i (69 hp) returns in the new Aygo, but unlike the new 108 and C1, Toyota doesn’t offer a more powerful 1.2-liter engine. 
Volkswagen Polo facelift
The popular Polo received a modest refresh with a focus on new engines and its interior. Volkswagen left the exterior of the Polo TDI BlueMotion, BlueGT and CrossPolo unchanged. The new materials and steering wheel in the interior are more noticeable. Volkswagen replaced the old 1.2 engines by the 1.0 three-cylinder (60/75 hp) of the Up!, capable of achieving better fuel economy. The three-cylinder 1.4-liter engine (75/90 hp) replaces the 1.2 TDI and 1.6 TDI engines. The 1.4 TDI BlueMotion (75 hp) is the most efficient diesel in its class with an average fuel consumption of just 3.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 82 g/km. Later this year Volkswagen will launch the frugal petrol 1.0-liter TSI BlueMotion (90 hp). The fuel consumption is 4.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions stand at 94 g/km.
Volkswagen Golf GTE
The new Golf VII is available with numerous petrol and diesel options, but Volkswagen recently launched the Golf with CNG drive and the electric e-Golf. At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show Volkswagen launched the plug-in hybrid Golf GTE. The GTE has two engines: a 150 hp 1.4 TSI engine and a 102 hp electric motor, with a combined power output of 204 hp. The electric range is 50 km (e-Golf: 190 km), but the combined range is 939 km. The GTE, which has 1 6-speed DSG automatic transmission, sprints from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and weighs 1,521 kg. The top speed in electric mode is 130 km/h and combined 217 km/h. The combined fuel consumption is just 1.5 l/100 km with corresponding CO2 emissions of 35 g/km.
Volkswagen Scirocco facelift
Volkswagen launched another refresh: the Scirocco, exactly 40 years after the debut of the first generation Scirocco in Geneva. The refreshed Scirocco will be launched in August. The cooling air inlet in the lower area of the front section is different, the rear lights are new and Volkswagen added horizontal lines on the rear section, while the interior has been upgraded as well. The engines are cleaner and more powerful than before and the line-up consists of four petrol and two diesel options: the 1.4 TSI (125 hp), the 2.0 TSI (180/220 hp), range-topping Scirocco R (2.0 TSI 280 hp) and 2.0 TDI (150/184 hp). CO2 emissions of the least powerful diesel-powered Scirocco are only 107 g/km.
Volkswagen Multivan Alltrack
The Multivan Alltrack is powered by the 2.0 TDI (180 hp) diesel engine and features 19-inch alloy wheels, rugged exterior cladding and 4Motion four-wheel drive.
