FIVE GOOD NEWS ITEMS FROM GM’S SEPTEMBER SALES FIGURES

Dark clouds have silver linings. Along the rim of the dark cloud that is GM’s 45% sales drop in September of 2009 are facts related to certain SUVs and the Chevrolet Camaro. And…. that’s about it. Check the Numbers below for a few of the most interesting details from September’s Sales Stats as they relate to Government General Motors.

2,866 – total sales of the all-new Cadillac SRX, up 238% compared with sales of the first-generation Cadillac SRX last September, making the SRX the second best-selling Cadillac in September behind the CTS
6,840 – total sales of the all-new Chevrolet Equinox, up 93.7% compared with sales of the first-generation Chevrolet Equinox last September
19,764 – total jumbo sport-utility vehicle sales at General Motors including the Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, Cadillac Escalade & Escalade ESV, GMC Yukon, and GMC Yukon XL
7,961 – total Chevrolet Camaro sales, beating out the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger combined and making the Camaro a better seller in September than either the Chevrolet Aveo and Chevrolet Cobalt
23 – percentage increase in the sales of the Chevrolet Suburban compared with the 4,339 Suburbans sold last September
