Are the wheels and engine the only things wrong with it
17" wheels aren't a bad thing. In fact, MOST middle aged men who appreciate the retro styling don't like the over sized, downright stupid looking 20" wheels. If we wanted 20" wheels we'd go get a broken down chevy from the 'hood.

And why the hell should Golf GTI and Impreza WRX STI be an Alternative? They don't even come close. Impreza used to be a good, but Gold simply sucks.
Other than that, they're both not American Muscle.
