BYD Dolphin EV Sales Data & Trends
The BYD Dolphin is an electric car that will be sold all over the world. It’s the first BYD to be based on the brand’s new EV architecture “e-platform 3.0” which will underpin a series of upscale EVs. The Dolphin is also the first BYD featuring the brand’s new design language called “Marine Aesthetics”. BYD’s German chief designer Wolfgang Egger who formerly was head of design at Audi Group is responsible for their designs.
The Dolphin EV is powered by a 44.9-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides an EPA-estimated range of 245 miles. It is available in two rear-wheel drive configurations: Standard Range and Long Range. The Standard Range model produces 134 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, while the Long Range model produces 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque.
The Dolphin EV is available with a variety of features, including a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and a Bose sound system.
