China auto sales statistics for Audi only include the models that are locally produced in China through the FAW-Audi Joint Venture with local manufacturing partner First Auto Works and excludes import models. The Audi A4 and A6 were produced and sold in China until 2008, production and sales of the stretched wheelbase Audi A4L and A6L started in 2009. Car sales statistics from China only include domestic production and exclude imported models.
Audi China Sales Figures & Recent Highlights
Audi sold 584,028 vehicles in China in 2022, up 9.7% from 2021. It had a decline of 8.45% in 2021 due to a COVID hangover after years or strength and lots of growth. The company’s current market share in China is 6.77%.
Other recent highlights include the launch of the all-new Q5 e-tron electric SUV in China in 2022. The Q5 e-tron is the first fully electric SUV from Audi in China. Audi also plans to electrify its entire lineup in China by 2030. The company also plans to introduce a new range of electric SUVs and sedans in China in the coming years. Audi is the second-largest luxury car brand in China, after Mercedes-Benz. The company has been very successful in China in recent years, and it is continuing to grow its market share.
