The AITO M5
Huawei, one of China’s largest tech companies and best known for their cellphones and 5G networks, has built a car. The AITO M5 is an all-electric/range extended electric crossover SUV produced by Seres under the AITO brand in collaboration with Huawei from 2022. The model is the first product of AITO, which stands for “Adding Intelligence to Auto”. The AITO M5 is based on the Seres SF5, but it has been heavily modified with new styling, a more powerful electric motor, and a larger battery pack.
The AITO M5 Overview
The AITO M5 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that acts as a range extender for the electric motor. The electric motor produces 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, and the range extender can provide an additional 120 kilometers of range. The AITO M5 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.8 seconds.
