In 2013, the European car market started showing signs of stabilization after several years of decline post the financial crisis. While 2013 began with declining car sales, by year’s end there were signs of recovery, especially in the last few months. Nevertheless, the overall market was still down compared to the pre-crisis period. The annual figures for 2013 indicated a decline, but it was less severe than in 2012.
As with 2012, the situation varied by country. Southern European markets, like Spain and Greece, continued to struggle, though the pace of decline reduced. In contrast, the UK market continued its growth, and Germany’s decline was less pronounced.
