2011 U.S. Automotive Sales by Automaker – The Best-Selling Automotive Manufacturers By Sales Volume

In 2011, the U.S. auto market continued its recovery from the recent recession, and manufacturers saw growth compared to the previous year. GM maintained its leading position in the U.S. market. Brands such as Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, and Buick were under the GM umbrella and contributed significantly to its sales figures. Ford continued to be a strong performer in the U.S. The Ford F-Series truck maintained its position as the best-selling vehicle, and other models like the Escape and Fusion also had strong sales. While Toyota faced challenges due to the recalls in 2010 and the impact of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, it still remained a top seller in the U.S. The Camry and Corolla, in particular, had strong sales. Chrysler saw a resurgence in 2011, with an increase in sales across its brands, which included Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Fiat. Honda also faced supply chain challenges due to the natural disasters in Japan, but models like the Accord, Civic, and CR-V continued to be popular among U.S. consumers.
