As some of you may have noticed, there’s a new design and new structure for our website. This is a result of CarSalesBase moving under the umbrella of A07 Online Media, which also has been running one of our former rival sites GoodCarBadCar and a number of other websites in the automotive and motorcycle categories.
In the short term, this means that you’ll see some changes in design and ease-of-use, while in the long term we’ll be able to leverage being part of a larger company to automate the backend. This should allow us to update the data quicker and to give deeper data insights. There will also be more funds available to invest in growth and reach. This also means we may be able to expand beyond our current offerings into new markets.
What won’t change is our dedication to getting you the most complete data analysis for Europe, China and the US, even though for the latter market most manufacturers have switched to reporting their sales quarterly instead of monthly. What also won’t change is my (Bart’s) analyses and sales reports, as I’ll stay put and keep doing what I’ve been doing for the past six years since I founded the site.
I started this as a hobby project, just out of my deep interest in car sales, and I never thought it would grow out to be as big as it has become with over 16 million cumulative page views, over 4,000 posts and a database of sales history of almost 3,000 models. But as I’m not a webdesigner, developer or online marketeer, I needed some expertise if CSB was to continue to grow further. By bringing my baby under the umbrella of a team of professionals in this field, I can continue to do what I do best (and enjoy most) while the experts at A07 Online Media can do what they do best: enable growth and stability.
In the meantime, I’ll still be available for companies interested in data analysis, market analysis, consulting or the purchase of more detailed data than what’s published here.
Thanks for your support and interest in our work in these past years, I hope you’ll continue to come here in the future!
