Plymouth Acclaim Sales Figures

Plymouth Acclaim

The Acclaim replaced the Plymouth Reliant and Plymouth Caravelle in 1988 and in its turn was replaced by the Plymouth Breeze in 1997. The Acclaim was not well-received by critics or consumers. It was criticized for its poor performance, cheap interior, and lack of luxury features. It was also seen as a betrayal of Plymouth’s tradition of building stylish and affordable cars.

Plymouth Acclaim Overview

The Plymouth Acclaim was a mid-size sedan that was produced by Plymouth from 1988 to 1995. It was based on the Chrysler K platform, and it was a sister car to the Dodge Spirit and Chrysler LeBaron. The Acclaim was powered by a variety of engines over its production run, including a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and a 3.0L V6 engine. It was available with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission.  The Acclaim was discontinued following the 1995 model year. It was replaced by the Plymouth Breeze.
