Previous-generation Audi A6s and their jacked-up Allroad brethren face a recall related to possible fuel leaks; leaks that could end up causing dangerous situations. From 2001 through 2004, the A6 utilized 2.7L, 2.8L, and 3.0L engines. Allroads from ’01 to ’05 used the 2.7L as well as a 4.2L V8. If you’re A6 matches with these model years and engines, then you’re one of some 68,000 drivers who’ll need to visit an Audi dealer.
Apparently, a variety of circumstances, including aging of the plastic content in the fuel tank, can eventually lead to a leak in the presence of an ignition source. That commonly means fire. The Recall begins soon.
