The Aston Martin DB9
The Aston Martin DB9 was introduced in 2004 to replace the Aston Martin DB7. In its place, the DB9 was replaced at the end of 2016 by the Aston Martin DB11.
Aston Martin DB9 Overview
The first Aston to come from Aston’s new Gaydon facilities is the 2+2 DB9 Coupe. It is made on Ford’s all-aluminum VH platform with an aluminum/composite body. First launched to market as a 2004 model, Aston upgraded it in 2008 with a more powerful engine 470 bhp engine, better suspension and standard 19’’ 10-spoke alloy wheels. Using a radical new aluminium-bonded body frame, the DB9 is one of the most sophisticated and technically advanced sports cars in the world. It is powered by the latest version of Aston Martin’s 6.0-litre V12, producing 450bhp and a top speed of 186mph.Â
In the most significant programme of upgrades since its world debut in 2003, Aston Martin’s DB9 range received a complete package of styling, engineering and equipment enhancements for 2010. This new package of improvements complimented included subtle styling changes freshen the DB9’s appearance, with a new front bumper, bright finish radiator grille and a re-shaped lower intake featuring bright hexagonal mesh. New headlight bezels, re-styled sills, silver brake calipers, 20-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels and clear rear light lenses complete the external revisions. In 2013 Aston Martin updated the DB9 for the second major time since the model’s inception in 2004. The new model has many new features such as updated body panels, the updated AM11 V12 from the Vanquish and Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes. Main options include exterior and interior carbon packs, lightweight seats and a 1000-watt Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system.
