European regulators force automakers into awkward situations that we in North America can’t understand. The small print we regularly see – “Professional Driver On Closed Course” and “Do Not Attempt” – isn’t a part of what the nannies want viewers to see. In the end, rulings have been passed that severely limit the fun to be had by a professional driver on a closed course while filming a commercial for consumption in many European nations.
