Shopping for a new vehicle can be a daunting experience unless you’re one of the rare and twisted few that enjoys bringing a deck of cards to your favorite dealership. Alas, if the trends set by Genesis (and others) holds true, playing card games at a car dealership may soon be a thing of the past. Something that may also become a thing of the past: the common family sedan. The sedan segment continues to shrink, and buyers are increasingly opting for sedans from luxury marques. But where sedans have slumped, crossovers and SUVs have skyrocketed. Much has been said here about the change in sales trends in the auto industry, and so it’s not surprising that automakers serve that trend - fewer sedans are on offer, and some brands - including Ford - have effectively no sedans at all.
