It was based on the PS platform, and was the first vehicle built under Mitsubishi’s “Project America” program, a program aimed at introducing vehicles for North America without having to compromise for, or accommodate, global markets.
The Endeavor was powered by a 3.8L V6 engine that produced 215 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. It was mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The Endeavor was available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Endeavor was not the most popular SUV in its class, but it was praised for its comfortable ride and spacious interior. It was also relatively fuel-efficient for its size, getting up to 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
