Nissan GT-R Sales Figures

Nissan GT-R

Here are monthly and yearly Canadian, European and U.S. sales figures for the Nissan GT-R. The Nissan GT-R is one of the most iconic and recognizable high-performance sports cars to emerge from Japan. Lauded for its blistering speed, advanced technology, and relative affordability compared to European supercars, the GT-R carries a long legacy stemming from the Nissan Skyline range.

Nissan GT-R Overview

The Nissan GT-R’s lineage can be traced back to the high-performance versions of the Nissan Skyline, which were first introduced in the late 1960s. The Skyline GT-R models became legends in their own right. However, with the R35 generation introduced in 2007, Nissan dropped the Skyline name, and the car became simply the Nissan GT-R, setting it apart as its own model.

The GT-R is often referred to by its nickname “Godzilla”, a nod to its Japanese roots and monstrous performance. It’s renowned for its use of advanced technology, including a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. This allows the GT-R to achieve 0-60 mph times that rival and often best those of much more expensive supercars. Throughout its lifespan, the GT-R has seen various performance improvements. The 3.8L V6 engine has seen horsepower numbers ranging from the initial 480 hp in 2007 to well over 600 hp in later NISMO versions.
