The data below is for the rear-wheel drive BMW 2-series coupe and convertible, and from 2020 onwards also the front-wheel drive based 2-Series Gran Coupe (pictured right). From 2015 forward, BMW started reporting 1-Series and 2-Series sales together, which is what we are showing on this page.
BMW 2-Series Overview
The 2 Series was first introduced in 2014 as a successor to the BMW 1 Series Coupe and Convertible, and it is known for offering a more performance-oriented driving experience within the BMW lineup. The BMW 2 Series is available in different body styles and configurations, including coupe, convertible, and Gran Coupe (a four-door coupe-style variant). The 2 Series is based on the company’s UKL platform, which is also used for the BMW 1 Series and the MINI Cooper.
The 2 Series is available with a variety of engines, including a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid. The four-cylinder produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, the inline-six produces 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, and the hybrid produces 228 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The 2 Series is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. It can tow up to 2,200 pounds.
The 2 Series has a sporty interior that can seat up to five passengers. The cabin is trimmed in high-quality materials, including leather, wood, and metal. The 2 Series also comes standard with a variety of features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The 2 Series is a performance car that can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. It has a top speed of 155 mph. The 2 Series is a compact luxury car that is priced starting at $39,900.
