The overall US auto market in 2022 was still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was still down from pre-pandemic levels. Total new car sales in 2022 were 13.9 million units, up 1% from 2021 but down 16% from 2019.

The best-selling vehicles in the United States in 2022 were the Ford F-Series, Ram Pickup, Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Toyota Camry, Nissan Rogue, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Highlander and Hyundai Tucson. These vehicles accounted for over 10% of all new car sales in the US in 2022.
