2022 US Auto Sales Figures – By Model (All Vehicle Ranked)

2022 U.S. Vehicle Sales Rankings – Every Vehicle Ranked By Sales Volume

This sales data table looks at sales performance for every model sold in the United States for the entire year. It includes all major models sold in the U.S market and you can see that the sales trends clearly. Seeing the individual model sales performance in this way gives you a good sense of the momentum (good or bad). The overall US auto market in 2022 was still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was still down from pre-pandemic levels. Total new car sales in 2022 were 13.9 million units, up 1% from 2021 but down 16% from 2019.

The best-selling vehicles in the United States in 2022 were the Ford F-Series, Ram Pickup, Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Toyota Camry, Nissan Rogue, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Highlander and Hyundai Tucson. These vehicles accounted for over 10% of all new car sales in the US in 2022.

The best-selling vehicles in the US in 2022 reflect the continued popularity of trucks and SUVs. The Ford F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the US for over 40 years, and the Ram Pickup and Chevrolet Silverado are also popular choices. The Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V are two of the most popular crossover SUVs in the US, and the Toyota Camry is the best-selling sedan.

  2. Agreed – just looking at Tesla – their total S/X deliveries in Q1 worldwide was only 14,724 according to their own report. yet this claims they delivered 158K Model S’s in the US…

  4. For those paying attention, the Chevy Malibu actually (narrowly) outsold the Honda Accord in June 2022. So I guess THERE IS still a market for GM-(and Ford)-cars, BUT, Ford sells no cars-(save the Mustang)-and GM sells only the Malibu in any kind of volume-(excluding Cadillac, of course).

  6. I need this data at the same level of detail (by model, by month) as it was published in 2021 and 2020.

    The table showing 12 monthly columns is grouping the data below it by brand.

  7. I also realized that “US Vehicle Sales Figures” was listed in detail by model by month in 2021 and 2020, but it’s not shown that clearly now. I still appreciate the website sharing these valuable vehicle sales stats.

  8. Looking like a really ugly set up for a terrible Year 2022 for the US economy. Numbers off somewhat to start with as usual but as has always been the case updated to perfection remains my go to site as such. Great work here always appreciated.

  9. The data provided here is great, but I feel like there are many sub-models that should be broken out individually. The Kia NIRO for example. They now have ICE, Hybrid, and EV variations on this model, and the data should reflect that. Same goes for the F-150 Lightening sales, which I must assume are lumped into the overall “F-150 Series” sales numbers. It would be wise and informative to break those sales out separately from the ICE F-150 sales numbers.
