Australia / Oceania Passenger Car Sales for 2020
Overall, 2020 was a challenging year for car sales in Australia and Oceania due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Lockdown measures, economic uncertainties, and reduced consumer spending significantly impacted the industry. Car sales declined in both Australia and New Zealand, with various segments affected. Factors such as pandemic-related restrictions, economic conditions, and specific market dynamics influenced the car sales trends in each country.
Car sales in Australia in 2020 experienced a notable decline compared to the previous year. A total of only 916,968 new vehicles were sold, marking a decrease of approximately 13.7% compared to 2019.
