Tesla Model X Sales Figures

Tesla Model X

Here you will find monthly and yearly Canadian, European and U.S. sales figures for the Tesla Model X. The Tesla Model X is a full-sized, all-electric luxury SUV introduced by Tesla, Inc. Launched after the success of the Model S sedan, the Model X added more versatility to Tesla’s lineup, targeting customers who wanted the benefits of an electric vehicle (EV) in a more spacious, family-friendly format.

Tesla Model X Overview

The Model X was unveiled in 2012, with deliveries beginning in 2015. The vehicle is known for its distinctive falcon-wing rear doors, which allow for easier access to the rear seats, especially in tight spaces. Just like the Model S, the Model X is renowned for its impressive acceleration and performance, especially in its Performance variants. Some versions can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds. The Model X also offers a competitive range for an SUV of its size, with some variants boasting over 300 miles on a single charge as per EPA estimates.

The Model X’s most distinctive design feature is its falcon-wing doors. While they add a futuristic aesthetic, they’re also functional, designed to open in tight spaces and provide easier access to the third-row seats. The vehicle has a large panoramic windshield that extends over the driver’s head, offering a unique and expansive view of the road and sky. Internally, it features a similar large central touchscreen interface as the Model S, controlling most of the car’s functions.

Variants of the Model X, similar to the Model S, have been defined by battery capacity and performance capabilities, with names like P90D, P100D, and more recently, Long Range and Plaid. Tesla frequently updates its vehicles both in terms of hardware and software. Over-the-air (OTA) updates allow the company to introduce new features, improve existing ones, or address potential issues.

In 2022, Tesla introduced the refreshed Model X. The new model has a more aerodynamic design, a revised interior, and a new Plaid+ trim level with a 390-mile range.

Tesla Model X Sales Figures

The Model X, given its higher price point, hasn’t sold in as high numbers as the more affordable Model 3 or Model Y, but it has been generally well-received in the luxury SUV segment.
