In 2014, the U.S. auto market was in recovery mode, coming back strongly from the economic downturn of the late 2000s. General Motors, the parent company of Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, and Buick maintained a strong presence in the U.S. market. The Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra were among their top sellers. The Ford F-Series continued its reign as the best-selling vehicle in America, with other models like the Escape and Fusion also contributing to Ford Motor Company high sales figures. With a diversified lineup including the Camry, Corolla, and RAV4, Toyota Motor Corporation retained a strong market presence in 2014. Brands under FCA such as Jeep, Ram, Dodge, and Chrysler were pivotal. The Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram pickups were particularly popular that year.
