Saturn’s heavyweight Vue, a cute-ute of the cuter kind, has been issued a Recall by NHTSA for problems related to power steering fluid. 42,408 Vues from model years ’08 and ’09 should head to dealers so that “the nut securing the power steering line to the power steering pump” can be inspected. If there are no signs of a fluid leak, dealers will tighten the nut. If a fluid leak is present, (the) dealer will tighten the nut and check the fluid level.”
The Good Car Guy drove the Vue at GM’s proving grounds about a year ago and found it to be the perfect small SUV but for one major fault. It’s a heavyweight – and driving dynamics seriously suffer. It also works a whole lot better when the power steering fluid isn’t leaking.
