The BMW 1-Series
The two generations of the BMW 1-Series hatchback have been imported into China and therefore don’t show up in our data. In 2017, BMW launched a sedan version of its 1-Series, which was developed exclusively for China and produced in the Shenyang factory with local Joint Venture partner Brilliance. This is the third BMW produced in China based on the front-wheel drive UKL2 platform, after the 2-Series Active Tourer and the second generation BMW X1, and leaving open the possibility of future production of Mini models in China.
BMW 1-Series Overview
The BMW 1 Series is a range of compact luxury cars produced by the German automaker BMW. It was first introduced in 2004 as a replacement for the BMW 3 Series Compact and was designed to offer a more affordable entry point into the BMW brand without compromising on the company’s trademark performance and driving dynamics. Over the years, the BMW 1 Series has undergone several generational updates, with each generation featuring improvements in design, technology, and performance. As of my last update in September 2021, the latest generation is the third-generation BMW 1 Series, which was introduced in 2019.
BMW 1-Series Sales Data & Trends
The BMW 1 Series is available in markets worldwide, and it serves as an entry-level model in BMW’s lineup, making luxury and performance more accessible to a broader range of customers. It has strong sales in all markets.
